What are CO2RE Intima treatments?
CO2RE Intima treatments are in-office, non-surgical procedures that use laser energy to treat the symptoms associated with vaginal dystrophy. Intima’s medical laser delivers controlled CO2 energy to the vaginal or vulva tissue in order to improve skin tone, texture and appearance.* Loss of vaginal tone can be a side effect of aging and natural childbirth.
Over time, the vaginal wall, which contains collagen fibers, is stretched and loses tissue tone and elasticity. Unwanted personal stress can be caused by leaking urine when sneezing or coughing due to loose vaginal tone. Painful intercourse, itching or burning in the genital area can also occur as we age. Reduced estrogen levels can lead to a loss of vaginal lubrication. But with CO2RE Intima, we can treat these symptoms without the use of surgery or medication.*
How does CO2RE Intima work?
*Individual results may vary; not a guarantee.
CO2RE Intima remodels vaginal connective tissue in order to restore vaginal health.* By applying gentle laser energy to the vaginal wall, a healing response is stimulated that enhances moisture levels in the vaginal canal.* This results in remodeling of the tissue fibers, thereby also restoring shape and flexibility.* The procedure delivers both immediate and long-lasting relief in a painless, non-surgical, proven treatment.*
What can I expect during the treatment?
During your initial consultation, we will determine if Intima treatments can help you. On the day of your treatment, you will not need to go a hospital. This is an in-office procedure that can be performed at our practices in Dover & Newington, New Hampshire and Peabody, Massachusetts. Treatments are virtually painless and require no anesthesia. It takes around 15 minutes to treat both internally and externally. Typically, a series of up to 3 treatments are done. A once-a-year single treatment is recommended to maintain symptom relief.
What can I expect from the results?
During the first procedure, some patients report mild discomfort with the laser handpiece tip insertion due to vaginal dryness. Immediately following the procedure, you may experience relief right away. Nearly all of our patients have experienced relief after the first treatment.* There is little downtime involved, making it a great alternative to surgical alternatives.
