What is ESKATA?

ESKATA is the first and only FDA-approved topical treatment for raised seborrheic keratoses (SKs). SKs are common skin growths that look like warts, and this medication can remove these blemishes for clearer skin.* With its hydrogen peroxide solution, ESKATA can remove significantly raised SKs with just two treatments.*

How does ESKATA work?

ESKATA is applied with a device that looks like a felt-tip pen. The pen contains a 40% hydrogen peroxide solutions, which is essential for minimizing the appearance of raised SKs. During treatments, we apply the felt-tip applicator to your raised SKs. Most patients describe a slight tingling sensation, which is a sign that they hydrogen peroxide solutions is going to work. The procedure time is usually less than 30 minutes, and once we are done, we will give you instructions on how to take care of your treated SKs from home.

Am I a candidate?

Candidates for ESKATA treatments have raised and/or shiny marks that look like light moles, freckles or pimples. Seborrheic keratosis is not dangerous, but many people feel self-conscious about these marks. If you want to address your SKs and other skin imperfections, schedule a consultation at Dermatology & Skin Health. We can determine if ESKATA treatments can help you. You should know, however, that ESKATA cannot be used to treat open and/or infected SKs, nor can be used around the eyes.

What can I expect from the results?

Results will vary from patient to patient, and largely depend on the size and/or number of seborrheic keratoses being treated. Around a quarter of our patients can expect to see a large clearance of SKs within several months.* There is no downtime or recovery associated with ESKATA. You can resume your normal routine after your appointment.
