Picoway® Tattoo Removal

PicoWay® Resolve is a new technology that we’ve brought in to the practice here at Dermatology & Skin Health that is a fractional treatment capability introduced to the advanced PicoWay® laser device that takes care of benign pigmented lesions and:

• and other assorted skin irregularities

PicoWay® treats a wide range of pigmented lesions with clear results in just a few treatments that are better served than other laser treatment options with minimal discomfort and heal time. PicoWay® can also treat multi-colored tattoos.

PicoWay® laser treatments can be used for other skin concerns, such as scars, wrinkles, and brown spots.

The number of sessions required depends on several factors.

• Size
• Color
• Depth
• Age of tattoo
• Your skin type

Typically, most patients require between 8 and 12 treatments spaced about 6 to 8 weeks apart. Before treatment, your Dermatology & Skin Health provider will evaluate your tattoo and skin to create a personalized treatment plan and decide if laser tattoo removal is right for you. Our goal is to give you a clear idea of what to expect and how long the process could take.

You’ll be given topical numbing cream to apply to your skin before coming in for your first visit. Typically this is given to patients at their initial consult.

During your first visit, your skin’s reaction to the laser will be tested to determine the most effective treatment. The effectiveness of the treatment depends on many factors such as the location, depth, size, and type of pigmentation. Some lesions will require several treatments for optimal results where some can be resolved in a single treatment.

After treatment, you may experience mild redness, swelling, or tenderness. These effects normally subside within a few days.

You can resume most daily activities immediately after your appointment. It is important to follow after-care instructions, which our staff will provide you with before treatment even starts.

Occasionally, blisters or scabbing can occur. Our providers can help guide you through what to expect and how to treat anything that may arise.
