CoolSculpting® ELITE is a non-invasive, non-surgical fat reduction treatment that works by freezing fat cells using a process called cryolipolysis. The thermal effects of freezing these cells causes the outer membrane to break down, thus permanently destroying unwanted fat from the treatment area. CoolSculpting® ELITE targets subcutaneous fat without injuring your skin and surrounding tissues.
The non-surgical CoolSculpting® treatment is FDA-cleared to reduce fat in nine different areas of the body. CoolSculpting® technology works by applying targeted cooling to fat cells, triggering cell death. Frozen fat cells in the treated area will begin to be eliminated in the weeks following treatment by the body’s own natural processes.There is no harm to surrounding nerves or skin. The result? Up to 20 to 25 percent fat layer reduction in the treated area. Best of all, once the treated fat cells are eliminated from the body, they’re gone for good! All with little to no downtime and no surgery.
You will come up with a treatment plan with your provider prior to your appointment so you can plan your time accordingly. Once our providers have applied the treatment applicators, they will adjust pillows and make you as comfortable as possible. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.
Once you are done, your provider will massage the treated area. Studies show that massage after the treatment helps to optimize results. You may feel tenderness and numbness in the treated area for 1-2 weeks. In 2-3 days after treatment you may feel some itching that is a sign of the fat cell destruction. You may resume normal daily activity immediately after your treatment.
Most patients experience little to no downtime after their CoolSculpting® treatment and resume their regular activities immediately after their appointment. Side effects are mild and may include skin sensitivity, slight bruising, redness, or aching in the treatment site. These symptoms usually resolve within a few days.
Some patients report seeing initial improvement in as few as three weeks. However, it can take about two months to see the most noticeable changes. The body continues to eliminate fat cells for several months after treatment.
The CoolSculpting® fat-reduction procedure is specially designed for those who have unwanted fat in targeted areas. Unlike weight-loss surgery (e.g., gastric bypass), the CoolSculpting® procedure is not a weight-loss solution for people who are obese. As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you typically feel intense cold. This soon dissipates. With some applicators, you’ll feel some pulling as suction is applied. The area generally goes numb within 5 to 10 minutes during treatment. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their CoolSculpting® treatment.
After the treatment, you may feel some tingling as the area is massaged for 2 or 3 minutes. Patients are usually able to return to normal activities following their appointment.
During the procedure, you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity. Sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental area treatment. These effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks. Though rare, some additional side effects may occur. As with any medical procedure, ask your physician if the CoolSculpting® procedure is right for you.
You may start to see changes as quickly as 3 weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after 2 months. Your body will still continue to flush out fat cells for up to 4 to 6 months after treatment.
There is minimal downtime with a CoolSculpting® treatment; however, some patients may feel some discomfort like cramping or swelling in the treatment area.
CoolSculpting® is FDA-approved and clinically proven to permanently eliminate stubborn fat. Once the fats cells are gone, they’re gone for good.
