Vermont becomes the second state to ban tanning bed use for minors.. we all know that tanning beds are dangerous. The dangers of tanning are well-documented - ultraviolet (UV) tanners are 74 percent more likely to develop melanoma than those who have never tanned indoors, and new research shows that those who make just four visits to a tanning booth per year can increase their risk for melanoma by 11 percent, and their risk for the two most common forms of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, by 15 percent.
